Omni Goes Plasma

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

According to this Newswire press release, Omni Advertising will be installing a digital signage network on the fourth floor conference room of their Boca Raton headquarters. Three 50-inch high definition Panasonic plasma monitors will be linked to create one stunning image and will be clearly viewable from the building’s atrium, restaurant and lobby.

The digital signage network will be powered by rVue which allows users to control in-store video programming.

“Omni Advertising is in a unique position as both a user of the rVue technology, and a key influencer among its clients,” said Jason Kates, CEO and founder of RMS Networks. “Their digital marketing content is ideal for distribution via rVue. At the same time, their auto dealer clients are realizing the power digitally created and distributed marketing content can have in their own showrooms.”

“This is a powerful sales tool that has delivered proven profitability and increased customer satisfaction,” said Ken Hudson, CEO of Omni Advertising (omni-advertising.com). “When our clients walk in, they’ll see their own ads and content on HD plasma screens. The impact is powerful! When we tell them the same content can be playing in their dealerships, it will be a natural decision.”

In a related agreement, the auto dealer application of rVue, will be rolled out at Jim Hudson Automotive Group’s Toyota and Hyundai showrooms in South Carolina, giving managers the ability to personally select and control the video programming that plays in each dealership.

For more information about installing rVue in your dealership, contact Omni at 561-620-4774.

Leasing Sales Up?

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Is vehicle leasing becoming more popular? That’s what the article on automotive.com is saying. While leasing may traditionally be more popular with higher priced luxury vehicles, the recent reduction in lease pricing may actually be the source of more leasing across the board.

Is this actually a new concept? Surely for most people who can’t afford the costs of buying a new car, leasing would seem more appealing. And while consumers may not be able to afford the cost of a new car, spread over five, six, seven or more years of payments, leasing would seem a better choice. And a lot of people want to, or need to, buy a new car every few years.

At any rate, this is good news for automotive sales.

Ford Certified Used Plan Enhanced

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

The Detroit News recently posted an article about Ford’s decision to enhance it’s certified used car program. Partially due to the recent slump in the economy, Ford’s decision should offset the decline in sales of new cars and trucks. Recent surveys by J.D. Power and Associates and Wachovia show overall demand for used cars, and for certified used-car sales particularly, is increasing.

The latest initial quality study commissioned by Ford shows the automaker in a statistical dead-heat with Toyota and Honda.

Toyota, which also saw a decline in new car sales, is also focusing on their certified used car plan to boost sales. Meanwhile, just announced, Toyota Motor Corp. beat General Motors Corp. in first-quarter sales by 159,000 vehicles, challenging the U.S. automaker’s 77-year reign as the global leader with gains in emerging markets that offset U.S. declines.
